Water Damage Restoration & Water Extraction
Having a water damage in your home can be a traumatic experience. And having the water damage restoration can be even more traumatic.
Traditionally, a Brandon water damage restoration company would come into your home and extract the carpet, then rip out the carpet, the drywall, your cabinets and any other structural material that they thought was damaged. Then everything would have to be restore or replaced by a contractor, taking weeks or months of time and causing you major headaches.
And trying to take care of the water damage yourself can lead to further damage from mold growth or termite infestation.
Today, with newer, proven drying technology, most water damages can be successfully dried, without the hassle of removing any of the building materials, including the carpet. This saves not only thousands of dollars, but weeks or months of headaches.
Water damage today is an exact science. Buildings can be successfully dried over and over again. In fact, the water damage schools that teach applied structural drying have been flooded thousands of times, and dried successfully over and over again with no microbial growth or other damages.
So why aren’t all the Brandon water damage restoration companies using this new technology?
It takes a lot of time and money to obtain the required certifications, and there is a large investment in equipment, and the company makes less money using the newer technology. Many so-called Brandon water damage restoration companies are actually general contractors who have no real training or certification in water damage restoration.
Why do we do it? Because we made a commitment to our clients when we started this company in 1985 to provide the best service possible. The new technology calls for Thermal Imaging Inspection of the building, which can locate hidden moisture in the wall cavities. The thermal inspection tells us where the moisture is so that we can direct the equipment to the precise area to be dried.
The thermal images we have on our site are of a home that had the hot water heater rupture in the attic from a pipe break. It flooded the second and first floors. The thermal images show all the hidden water damage in the walls, ceilings, studs and insulation.
The digital photos of the same home show no indication of damage. We were able to dry this unit in two days. The baseboards were removed and holes drilled to force dehumidified air into wall cavities. The restorations consisted of replacing the baseboards, and caulking the 3/16’s inch holes we drilled above the casings to dry the walls behind the vanity upstairs.
If these clients had called in other Brandon water damage restoration companies, the clients would have been out of their homes for 3 to 6 months because the drywall and ceiling would have had to be removed and replaced, and the cost would have been around $60,000. The homeowners cost was less than 5% of that amount, and their home was back to normal in less than a week.
This technology can be utilized on 90% of all fresh water damage claims. This is because 90% of all claims are from a broken pipe or rain water falling through roof leaks or wind driven rain through windows. If you have sewage or rising waters from rivers and streams this is an entirely different category of water loss and we approach totally differently due to bacterial contaminants which may be present in the water.
Many people are worried about mold in their homes. The best way to prevent mold is to dry the building quickly. If you suspect there is a water damage in your home, no matter how small you should have a thermal imaging inspection done by a qualified inspector. Call only properly certified Brandon water damage restoration companies like Accent American.
